One aspect of becoming like Jesus means we learn to relate to God, to one another and to ourselves in healthy ways. This month we are considering our identity as Christ-followers--specifically how we relate to God our Father as "children of God."

It was brought to our attention that some of the metaphors of whores and harlots used in Ezekiel may have left some of us (women) a bit uncomfortable. The issue is kind of like: Why does it always have to be an adulterous woman? Does God have something against women? This is a follow-up conversation on an episode we did a few weeks ago about the language used in Ezekiel (and other prophets)... With one major difference: Rori and Ally give us a female perspective.

Afterward, our conversation meanders into what we've found most helpful, encouraging and/or challenging in Ezekiel so far.

A Hard Text - Ezekiel and John

Last Sunday, we opened the scriptures to Ezekiel Chapter 16. Passages of scripture like Ezekiel 16, can raise many questions for modern readers. This brief talk tries to answer some of those questions, regarding the vivid, graphic, and even offensive language and images that scripture often employs. Keep in mind, this is by no means exhaustive and is meant to sit within the context of our community, as we journey together in God's Word as we seek to follow Jesus in the everyday.
